We moved!

Last Saturday–the same day as the JBQ training, Bogdan moved the house with the guys from church.  WooHoo!

All mail can still be sent to the apartment since we have it until June when the contract expires. Just let me know if you send anything our way, so we can be on the look out.

Matt’s First Tooth

Yes that silly grin holds a tooth!

Hats and Mittens

The kids in Stroiesti got new hats, scarves and gloves from the folks at New Harvest Church.  The kids look forward to this every year! Next week, I’ll pass them out to the kids at Diakonia!

Junior Bible Quiz Training

Last Saturday, we had a Junior Bible Quiz Training for the churches in Suceava.  A group called KidzRomania came from Bucharest and taught us how to form JBQ teams in our churches.  It was a great training and some of the games we learned I used the next day in Stroiesti and last week in English classes.  We had 5 churches plus Stroiesti represented at the training.  Its too bad more folks didn’t come.  Maybe next time.

For those who don’t know what JBQ is; it is a great way for kids to learn about the Bible in a fun, competitive quiz show format.

After the training, KidzRomania, did an outreach at one of the local churches.  This was the same church we went to this summer with Missie and Leanna.  It was an excellent program complete with puppets and a clown! Matt even liked it.

Here are some fun(ny) pictures of the training and outreach.

House update

We have been working on the house everyday for the past 3 weeks.  We finished Matt’s room yesterday.  He even got to help with the flooring.   We are almost done and hope to move in next week.

North Carolina Christmas Boxes

Thank you to everyone who made boxes.  Some groups weren’t pictured (because I didn’t have pictures of them, of course).  Over 100 boxes were made in NC this year, plus board games, hot chocolate and popcorn for the 18 apartments that make up the orphanage.  There were many bags of coats and winter clothing for the village.

A very special thanks to my Mom who organized and collected the boxes. A special thanks to my Dad who let my Mom put the boxes in his garage aka guitar workshop and who rented a van and drove with my Mom to PA.  My folks will be here in Romania to hand out the boxes this year.  It will be a great time I’m sure.

Did your group make boxes?  Send me a photo and I’ll post it. (You don’t even have to live in NC!)

Again thank you to everyone who made boxes. Christmas will be brighter here in Romania because of you.
