Visa update

Well, we didn’t get the visa.  But we are not discouraged.  We trust in God’s plan for us and know He is wiser than we are.  I did make a phone call and someone will be writing a letter to put in Bogdan’s file explaining our situation in a way that the visa interviewer will find acceptable. We were encouraged to reapply and were told that if we don’t get the visa next time, it would be very surprising! So, we are discouraged or even upset.  After all the time on the train, we were just tired and a bit bored.

I did get my forms stating that : I am over the age of 18, I am not currently married, and I am not related to Bogdan.  That was a funny form to file out.

After the program at the embassy, we did a tiny bit of sight seeing.  I wanted to see Piata Revolutiei, where Ceausescu made his last speech.  It was really interesting.  Our favorite was the old secret police building that had been destroyed, only the outer shell of the building is still there.  In 2003, the Architecture Union put a glass building inside of it, preserving the old building as a memorial to the Revolution.

It was cold, so we didn’t stay long in Bucuresti and got back on the train.  Please pray for us as we consider when to reapply.  And thank you for all of your prayers.

  1. There were alot of people praying for you here. God is in control and we will continue to pray.

    Stay encouraged!!

    Love you!

  2. dearest melissa, i know that you know our LORD has HIS timing and it’s all for good. it must have been a long trip back and forth. i am glad you were able to see some sights. it sort of gives me chills when i think of the awful things that happened during “C” ‘s rule. you are walking thru history. i am glad you are not discouraged. Maybe the second interview is to show seriousness of intent?!!!!

    all my love,
    janet
