School time

Today, I went to the school in Stroiesti to find out the schedule for my English classes.  I will have classes Tuesday through Friday.  I’ll have a total of 154 kids each week, but since the classes are optional this number is sure to decrease.  Each grade has 2 classes and I will work with each class once a week.  The goal is to teach them basic vocabulary and verbal skills so that the English teacher can focus more on grammar.  Please pray for me as I start this new project.  I’m very intimidated by it and even a bit scared.  However, I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with more kids in the village!

  1. Hello Melissa. We will be praying; and remember, that in a classroom setting, you should start out very stern (border line mean) because you can always ease up later. However, if you start out easy it’s very difficult to be stern later. Just speaking from experience. You probably have already experience this as well. Blessings.

  2. Hey Melissa! Totally agree with Jerry. Also, this is what I did for two years (teaching English as a 2nd language), so if you like I can email you some games and conversation starters, etc.
Sounds great, and what a great way to reach more kids for Christ!!

  3. Hey Teach! All of that theatre experience will come through for you now. Use the games, exercises and improv skills you have and the class will be great! If you need tips, just ask.
    Love you lots.
