Prayer for the road

Tomorrow, I will be starting 2 weeks of traveling.  My first stop will be in Ohio.  I’m very excited because I will get to visit Brian and Candice and play with the babies!  I’ll be speaking at some churches and Christians schools near them.  I’ll also be going to the Columbus area to speak at a church.  Aunt Pat is in Columbus, so I’ll get a chance to see her and Steve too!

Next its off to training in Virginia for 3 days and then I race up to Lancaster, PA for “1st Picnic Lancaster,” a fundraiser for MBK.

It should be a busy couple of weeks, but good.  I’m looking forward to it.  And for those wondering if I will taking the manual transmittion…that would be a no.  I’m still not very comfortable with it and I do want to arrive in one piece.

Please pray for safe travels as well as good talks at all the churches and schools.  Pray that God will be glorified and that support will continue to come through for MBK and the children in Stroiesti.

Thank you!!

Melissa…Where are you??

I am now at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Pennsylvania, in the small town of Roxbury.  This is where MBK is based.  I’m staying with my sweet friend, Rebecca, who as graciously made room for me in her house.

This past Sunday, I gave my first talk in Ashville, PA (it too is in the mountains!)  I felt so welcomed by the church and it was a great way to start off my time here in PA.

Sunday evening, Rebecca had arranged for 6 girls from church to have a sleep over at the house.  There were movies, snacks and nail polish for everyone!   The girls were so sweet.  Rebecca and I took them ice skating and out to lunch today.  (I didn’t skate, I just took the pictures.) I think the time with the girls  was great practice for the future.

The only glitch so far…the car I am supposed to use to get around in has a manual transmission.  I don’t know how to drive stick.  But I guess I’ll soon learn. My first driving lesson wasn’t the most successful!  Please pray that I pick it up quickly.

Prayer Request

This prayer request comes from Ramona, my language tutor in Romania.  For 13 months, Ramona’s husband has been  in Africa.  First in law school and then he found a good job in Ethiopia.  They have been given a travel allowance and Ramona has a new passport. Praise the Lord!   The problem now appears to be getting the paperwork in order to get their son’s passport.  They must have papers signed by the  embassies in order to get his passport and this is proving to be very difficult.  Once passports are gotten, they will need visas in order to go to Ethiopia.

Please pray for the documents to come in soon. As well as patience for Ramona and her husband.  Also,  pray that the Lord will give them a peace while they wait.

Thank you.
